How do you sleep the night before you are about to meet your children for the first time?
The answer is… You don’t. We couldn’t sleep because we knew our lives were about to fundamentally change. When we started our process of adoption, we had no idea the trials and tribulations we would face and the patience we would learn. It literally changed my life.
Going through something your heart desperately wants and you have no control over is something that changed who I am now as a person. If you are in a season of waiting for something to happen that your heart is yearning for, and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, then this podcast is for you.
I’m going to share my story of adoption, what my season of waiting looked like, how I saw answers to my prayers, and how I grew into a better person through the grueling and treacherous process of waiting.

Oh, Kimberly, this brought back all the memories of when we went through the adoption process. How we tried and tried to have children of our own and then to lose one to a miscarriage. My husband always said that if is to be it will happen. We never had children of our own and when we decided to adopt it went so fast that it seemed to good to be real. Years later after many storms being parents of the heart I kept asking God why these children and all the storms we faced. Then my thought changed to “God gave them to us for some reason and I don’t why”. There have been families that I have been able to speak to about our children’s condition and thought okay Lord, is this why you placed our children with us. I still don’t know why. Today our children have lives that we did not plan for them to have, I have no control of them as adults. I love them in a way that only certain parents understand. I do believe that God gave our children to us and “it happened”.
